Clent Hills

About this park

Clent Hills, near Stourbridge, Worcestershire, offers expansive dog walking across dramatic hills with far-reaching views across the surrounding countryside. Dogs are warmly welcomed throughout these National Trust-managed hills, though owners are asked to keep them on a lead in the car park, café area, on the Viewpoint path, and especially in areas where livestock are grazing. If your dog's recall isn't perfect, it's best to keep them on a lead at all times to ensure the safety of sheep and cattle. The terrain at Clent Hills is varied, featuring a network of bridleways and permissive tracks that crisscross the hills. Pathways are generally made of red sandstone, which can be uneven and muddy in wet weather, but offer a good workout for both dog and owner. The easy-access path from Nimmings Wood car park provides a gentler, lower-gradient route up to the famous Four Stones, making it suitable for a range of activity levels. Several convenient facilities are available at Nimmings Wood car park, including an independent family-run café that offers refreshments after a bracing walk. Parking is available here for a fee, or for free for National Trust members, with additional free parking options at Walton Hill and Adams Hill. Toilets are also located at Nimmings Wood car park, ensuring a comfortable visit for all. The Clent Hills are accessible from dawn until dusk, offering picturesque walks at any time of day.
