About this park
Lickey Hills Country Park, a magnificent 524-acre expanse just southwest of Birmingham, offers a truly varied and treasured outdoor experience for you and your beloved canine companion. With its rich and interesting geology, the park boasts diverse habitats including enchanting woodlands, open heathland, and rolling grasslands. This variety ensures a plethora of excellent walking routes, making it a fantastic spot for a good long leg-stretch for both you and your dog. While exploring, you'll find the main Visitor Centre a handy hub. Here, you can chat with the park rangers, grab a site map to discover way-marked routes, and find plenty of information about the hills. For thirsty pups, there's a convenient dog water bowl located on the terrace behind the centre. Pups are welcome outside the main building, but for a cosy break, the newly opened Grounds Café inside the Visitor Centre warmly welcomes well-behaved dogs on short leads. They serve up delicious hot and cold locally sourced food and drinks – perfect for refuelling after a wonderful walk. Parking is available at the Visitor Centre, located off Warren Lane (via Rose Hill). Do keep an eye on the car park closing times, as these vary seasonally and gates are locked at dusk. Barbecues and fires are not permitted due to fire risk, but picnics are very much encouraged. Just remember to use the bins provided or, even better, take all your rubbish home with you to keep this beautiful park pristine for everyone to enjoy. Lickey Hills offers a fantastic day out for the whole family, with stunning views and plenty of space for canine adventurers.
