This iconic Dorset landmark offers breathtaking panoramic views of the English Channel and the dramatic Jurassic Coast. You'll find plenty of rugged pathways, perfect for an invigorating stroll with your four-legged friend, all whilst soaking in the impressive scenery. While the lighthouse itself is the star attraction and offers tours (note dogs aren't allowed inside, and there's a height restriction for visitors), the surrounding coastal paths are perfect for pups. Do keep dogs on leads, especially near the cliff edges and in areas where wildlife may be present. The terrain can be uneven, so good footwear for humans is advised. There's a visitor centre nearby, and you'll often find a lovely cafe to grab a cuppa and a treat for yourself after your walk. Parking is available, often paid, but it means you're right on the doorstep of these fantastic views. Remember to bring your own waste bags and leave no trace, helping to keep Portland Bill beautiful for everyone. It's a fantastic spot for a blustery walk or a sunny ramble, with plenty of fresh sea air for both you and your canine companion. Just be mindful of potential strong winds and respect the natural environment.
