About this park
Queen Elizabeth Country Park is one of Hampshire’s most popular and impressive country parks, set within the rolling landscapes of the South Downs National Park. Covering over 1,400 acres of woodland and downland, it offers a true countryside escape with far-reaching views, fresh air and a strong sense of space. The park is well known for its extensive network of walking trails, which range from gentle woodland paths to more challenging hill climbs with rewarding panoramic views across the South Downs. These varied routes make it a favourite for dog walkers, hikers, cyclists and families, with clearly marked trails suitable for all abilities. Dogs are welcome throughout much of the park, with some areas requiring leads to protect wildlife and grazing animals. Ancient woodland, seasonal colour and abundant wildlife give the park a rich natural character, while open hilltops provide some of the best viewpoints in the area. Facilities including a visitor centre, café, play areas and picnic spots make it easy to spend anything from an hour to a full day exploring. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful woodland walk, an energetic hike, or a scenic place to enjoy the outdoors with your dog, Queen Elizabeth Country Park offers a classic South Downs experience in a beautifully managed setting.
