This is vital to protect the abundant wildlife and any livestock that might be grazing in the area. Keeping a keen eye on your dog ensures a safe and enjoyable visit for everyone, furry friends and local inhabitants alike. There are two main car parks available: Bowness Knott and Bleach Green. Please note that parking charges apply at Bowness Knott, so do check the rates before you go. Bleach Green offers free parking. Both car parks are outside of the immediate National Trust ownership, but provide excellent access to the area. While there aren't specific dog facilities like washes or agility courses, the sheer natural beauty and miles of walking trails make up for it. Just be sure to bring your own water and waste bags to keep this beautiful area pristine.
