About this park
Blickling Estate, nestled in Aylsham, Norfolk, is a magnificent dog-friendly haven offering a blend of historical landscapes and expansive parkland. With 4,600 acres of woodland, open spaces, and lakeside walks, it's an ideal escape for dogs to explore diverse scents and sights alongside their owners. The estate provides a serene backdrop for leisurely strolls, ensuring both energetic pups and those preferring a gentle pace can revel in its natural beauty. Dogs are warmly welcomed across a significant portion of the parkland walks, inviting exploration of the grand estate. The varied terrain, from shaded wooded areas to open fields and the picturesque lake walk, offers continuous interest for canine companions. The well-maintained trails are suitable for all, promising an engaging and refreshing experience for every visit, with the changing seasons adding a dynamic beauty to the surroundings. While largely dog-friendly, it's important to keep dogs under close control, especially on leads in car parks and along the popular lake walk due to higher foot traffic. Dogs on short leads are also permitted in the farmyard, the bookshop, on the front drive, within the estate barn, and in the Muddy Boots café. Only assistance dogs are allowed inside the house, garden, and east wing, ensuring the preservation of these unique historical areas. For visitor convenience, the estate offers ample parking in four car parks (£5 for non-members), two welcoming cafés (Stables and Muddy Boots), and numerous toilet facilities, including accessible and Changing Places toilets. Picnic areas with benches are scattered throughout, providing perfect spots for a rest during your adventure. Additionally, cycle parking and a charming second-hand bookshop are available, making it a well-equipped destination for a full day out.
